Lawyer

Nadine Schawe, who was admitted to the Bar in Berlin in 2015, has been working for JBB since 2017. Before joining the team at JBB, she was employed by a major international law firm where she handled matters entailing company law.

Focus Areas

Nadine Schawe specialises in company law, competition law, and copyright and media law, focussing in particular on providing legal advice to firms involved in digital business, technology and the media.

With her expertise, she is able to provide valuable assistance in traditional matters under company law, such as incorporating new businesses or changes in the shareholder structure, as well as individual advice on company reorganisations, capital increases and transactions, mainly in the field of new media. Her area of expertise also comprises drawing up articles of association and preparing shareholders’ agreements and resolutions.

In addition, Ms. Schawe advises on all aspects of copyright and media law, competition law and advertising law, including drafting individual license and software agreements and customer contracts, and providing assistance with regard to the manifold requirements having to be heeded in digital business operations. On her clients’ behalf she investigates all types of claims filed under copyright law and competition law, taking pertinent legal steps both in and out of court wherever necessary. Firms operating in the digital sector rely on her legal expertise for implementing new business models and for ensuring that fundamental aspects of their marketing framework (e.g. ordering process, terms and conditions, privacy policy) are within the law.

Professional Training

Nadine Schawe studied international business administration before turning to the law. She graduated from the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, focussing on private international law, with an exchange semester in Sydney. During her legal traineeship at the Higher Regional Court in Munich she spent terms with supra-regional law firms specialising in commercial law, trade law and company law, and even whilst still studying she worked for a number of international law firms over a period of several years.
